CHARLIE SCHWARTZ

The Schwartz of Patterson-Schwartz

Meet the SCHWARTZ in
Patterson-Schwartz!

The name Patterson-Schwartz has been a long standing hallmark of integrity, personal service, fair dealing and excellence in real estate. When they shook hands to form the company nearly five decades ago, Bill Patterson and Charlie Schwartz were two dedicated salesmen who sought to create a standard of excellence in Delaware real estate. It is their work ethic and strong counsel that today defines the success of the company that bears their names.

A new generation now proudly carries on the vision of its founders but for Charlie Schwartz, II it is also a family tradition. During his childhood, Charlie accompanied his father on Saturday tours, helped him put up signs and watched as his father made personal connections with landowners and homeowners. This early exposure to the business combined with his education and experience has cultivated a level of understanding and experience that is unrivaled in Delaware and its surrounding real estate markets.

Charlie excels at matching people with property and property with people. “Real Estate ownership”, Charlie explains, “is basic to a person’s lifestyle and financial security, but it means different things to different people. For many, the term suggests a complicated transaction that must be completed, hopefully no more than once or twice in their lifetime, while for others it is an ongoing investment strategy.”

Charlie believes that his personal success at selling, as well as the success of his company, is due to upholding the philosophy set forth by his father and his associates. Selling real estate calls for taking “the long view.” In a time marked by rapid market fluctuations, the long view demands integrity, fosters patience and precludes manipulative selling. It insists on responsiveness in every situation.

Applying the long view in a real estate transaction establishes a high level of trust for Charlie with his clients. “For my family, real estate is more than a way to make a living. It is about the life patterns of the people who live in those properties that are bought and sold every day; it is about their work and play, their children, neighborhoods and schools. Real estate is about time and space, generations and community. The opportunity to match people with real estate is a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life.”
